Nearing the End

Hello Dolphin Community,

Just one more week of school left. The last day for students is Thursday, June 25th and it will be a 1/2 day. This past week was filled will a lot of great activities. Most schools had their respective field days and we also had the Dolphin Olympics on Thursday, which is D-Y's version of the Special Olympics where we bring together all our students from across the district to the high school for a day of events. This year, in addition to all the amazing activities organized by our staff, we had visitors from a cutting edge Artificial Intelligence company at the Dolphin Olympics. Representatives from Spiritify Ai, including their CEO and founder, were on hand with a few of their prototype Ai Carebot Companions that they are specifically designing to support students with complex needs. Having the Spiritify team present was a first step for the district in exploring this new cutting-edge technology as part of our continuous mission to ensure we are always exploring the best ways to meet each student's unique needs. You can follow this link to learn more about Spiritify Ai.

As we head into summer, I want to remind families that we will be offering our lunch program at multiple locations throughout the D-Y community, including daily pick up at the high school starting July 6 - August 21. Please see flyers distributed through your school's newsletters for more details.

Finally, we are still looking for a few more volunteers to help us with our reunification drill on June 29th, from 1-3. As a reminder, many of our staff are being trained that morning in a process for reconnecting student with parents in following an event where students and staff need to evacuate a building and can not return (reunification). In the afternoon, we would like to run a small drill to practice our new training. We need at least 30 volunteers of students, caregivers and staff to help us take on the roles of students and parents (any one can take on any role). If you are willing to help, please follow this link to volunteer.

Thank you for your ongoing support,

Marc J. Smith, Ed.D

Need a Bus Stop Next Year?

Dear Dolphin Families,
The district has a new transportation request process for the 2026–2027 school year. Families must fill out a transportation form for each student to let us know if bus service is needed for next school year.
To make sure transportation is ready for the first day of school in September, forms must be turned in by June 25.

Forms turned in after June 25 may not be processed before school starts. Returning students who do not submit a form by the deadline will not automatically receive bus transportation. Families will need to submit a late request, which could cause a delay in service.

If you have any questions or need any assistance please reach out to your child's school.
Thank you for your attention to this important deadline.
