SCHOOL CHOICE PROGRAM 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
On April 6, 2026, the Dennis-Yarmouth School Committee will vote on whether to participate or not in the 2026-2027 School Choice Program. The following timeline and procedures are as follows, and is in line with the DYRSD Policy JFBB - School Choice.
**Around April 17, 2026: Information on the number of school choice seats at each school and at each grade level will be determined. Please note that not all grade levels will have open seats.
** NOTE: School Choice availability pending outcome of override ballot question at Town Meetings.
View the DYRSD elementary school assignment by street. If you are a resident of the Dennis-Yarmouth School District, but you want your child to attend a different elementary school within our district that you are not assigned to, you will need to fill out the school choice application.
The selection of non-resident students for admission will be in the form of a random drawing when the number of requests exceeds the number of available spaces. There will be two drawings for this purpose. The first will take place during the last week of the current school year but no later than July 1st. The second will be conducted during the week immediately preceding the opening of the next school year and will be based on the possibility of unexpected additional openings.
Students accepted will be notified by telephone and follow-up letter and must register no later than 10 calendar days after a drawing date.
The application process will be handled by the Office of the Superintendent, and not the individual schools.
If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Miller, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent at 508-398-7605.
