Local Resources

Hello Dolphin Community,

I am writing today to share some local resources with you in light of the impact some families may be experiencing due to the current shutdown of the federal government. First, please know that the federal shutdown will not impact the school district's free breakfast and lunch program. Second, please know that a variety of local and community organizations are marshalling their efforts to ensure families in our community are fed.

Here are some local resources that may be of support to you. Please know that there are others in neighboring towns as well:

Please also know that if families are in need of additional resources, each school's counseling team has access to some resources and contacts as well. Please reach out to your child's school counselor as needed.

If you are a family that is not affected negatively by this government shutdown, please consider supporting our broader D-Y community in whatever way you can (donating to one of these organizations, volunteering, checking in on a neighbor). As our newly adopted Core Value of Community states, "We strengthen each other. We unite, working and celebrating our shared efforts. We serve and include all, looking out for everyone, and we own the responsibility to make our schools excel."

Take care,

Marc J. Smith, Ed. D.
