Delightful December

Hello Dolphin Community,

This is a wonderful time of year here in D-Y. Throughout the district, so many of our students are showing off their amazing arts talents throughout the month of December. There are a series of winter music concerts occurring throughout the month as well as displays of student physical art work. Each of these different versions of performance provide different opportunities for our students to show off all the hard work they have been putting in over the last first half of the year. They are a fabulous display of the district's commitment to Excellence, specifically that, "We provide students access to quality education with opportunities to explore and excel in a variety of subject matter and extracurricular activities that develop knowledge and skills that align with each student's interests."

As we prepare for the upcoming December winter break, we want to share how grateful we are for each of you. Together we have worked to establish routines of showing up to school and create a school community for everyone.
We know the winter season is busy, and we appreciate your efforts to avoid taking extra days off around the winter break. Our teachers will be teaching and our students will be learning right up until vacation starts on December 24, 2025, and the first day back on January 5, 2026.

Every school day matters. When students are healthy and able to attend, it gives them the chance to keep learning, connect with friends, and grow both socially and academically.
Your support makes such a difference in helping children feel connected and prepared.
If your family or your child needs support, please reach out to your child's school for help. Thank you for partnering with us!

Finally, be sure to check our our new website which launched last week. We are still working out a few bugs and are welcome to feedback, but hope you enjoy the new look that was driven by feedback we received by all of you.

Thank you for your continued support,

Marc J. Smith, Ed.D.
