Hello Dolphin Community,
I hope that this message finds you all well and enjoying a beautiful Cape Cod summer. While most of the students have not been in session for the past month, there has been a lot going on across the district. Progress continues on the turf field replacement project at DYIMS (
read more here), a new playground project has begun at Station Ave Elementary, painting projects are underway at M.E. Small, Station Ave., and Ezra Baker Elementaries, flooring replacements are occuring at Ezra Baker and Station Ave., the community garden is in full swing at DYHS, and deep cleaning is occuring all across the district. In addition to this work, our extended school year program and credit recovery programs are in full swing; with several students and staff participating in two sites in the district (DYIMS and DYHS). The AlphaBest summer program is running out of DYIMS this summer as well. Finally, a wide range of professional development opportunities have been occurring for staff throughout the summer to continue to build upon their already strong teaching practices for the return of students in the fall.
Recently, families should have received a message to their personal email about setting up their Powerschool Parent Portal account. In support of our Strategic Plan, and Strategic Objective # 2 - Establish consistent district-wide systems to support organizational effectiveness, we are moving more of our systems towards more efficient ways of collecting, updating, and maintaining necessary student and family information. Setting up your Parent Portal will allow you to:
- View student schedules and teacher assignments when they are released
- Complete Student Verification Forms (Fewer paper forms at the start of the year!)
- Access live grades (Grades 6–12)
- View report cards (PreK–12)
- Track attendance history
If you have any questions or need help setting up your account, feel free to reach out to your school. We're here to help!
Thank you or your continued support and have a wonderful rest of your summer!
