Multilingual Learners Parent Advisory Council
MLPAC meetings are held at the DYHS Library from 6:00-7:15 p.m.
October 20, 2025, December 12, 2025, March 23 2026, June 1, 2026
The group hosts members of the community for educational purposes, engage in discussions to support the MLE program at DYRSD
All ML families are welcome to join any of the meetings.
Translators are available for Portuguese, Spanish, and Haitian Creole and other languages by request

Multilingual learner parent advisory councils are made up of parents and legal guardians of multilingual learners.

Membership is voluntary and is open to all parents and legal guardians of students who are or have been identified as English learners.

MLPAC duties include but are not limited to:
- Creating by-laws (rules) regarding officers and operational procedures;
- Advising the school district, school committee, and board of trustees on matters related to multilingual learners;
- Meeting regularly with school or district leaders to participate in the planning and development of programs to improve educational opportunities for multilingual learners;
- Advising the district or school on any new proposed language acquisition programs;
- Reviewing district and school improvement plans as they relate to multilingual learners; and
- Meeting at least annually with the school committee or school council.

All parents, guardians or grandparents, of Multilingual Learner students or other interested parties such as teachers and community members are welcome to participate in the MLPAC. It is your opportunity to make an impact for your child. MLPAC meetings are open, and all are welcome to attend.
