Welcome to the D-Y Library Media Centers!
Each of the schools in the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District has a Library Media Center that is open to all students and staff. Our Library Media Centers include shelves of books for check-out, technology for use by students and staff, and makerspace materials. Each Library Media Center is staffed by a certified Library Media Specialist who curates collections, keeps books current and fresh for our students, supervises makerspaces and materials, provides support across content areas and supports teachers with other library related needs.
In grades k-5, students attend Library/Technology classes in the Library Media Center. These classes meet on a regular schedule and include grade level appropriate:
- read-alouds
- book check-outs
- library lessons
- digital literacy lessons
- computer science lessons
- makerspace/engineering activities
In grades 6-12, the Library Media Center is a resource. Students may do some of the following in the Library Media Center:
- check out books
- take an online course
- use District-provided technology
- use the makerspace
- meet with a class and teacher to do research
