Dennis-Yarmouth Integrated Preschool Registration Information
The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District (DYRSD) Integrated Preschool Program provides inclusive and supportive educational settings for children aged 3 to 5, offering families in Dennis and Yarmouth a valuable early learning opportunity. These programs are designed to integrate children with special education needs and community peers, fostering development through shared experiences. Preschoolers eligible for special education services due to a disability learn alongside typically developing peers, referred to as community peers, who model age-appropriate social, play, language, and learning skills, helping to build a strong foundation for lifelong success.
The curriculum focuses on key developmental areas, including readiness skills, speech and language, motor development, social/emotional growth, and self-help skills. Through engagement and age-appropriate activities, children are encouraged to develop their abilities in these areas, promoting confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Residents of Dennis and Yarmouth have access to these high-quality preschool programs, located at the Ezra H. Baker Innovation School (EHBi) in Dennis and the Marguerite E. Small Elementary School (MES) in West Yarmouth. The programs operate on a half-day schedule, offering both morning (3 year olds) and afternoon (4 year olds) sessions in a nurturing and supportive environment designed to meet the needs of all learners.
