Marching Band

The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School Marching Band is highly successful and competitive marching band that competes within the USBANDS circuit. The band has earned seven consecutive Massachusetts State Championships as well as four New England championships.

The marching band starts in the summer and rehearses Tuesday evenings in July so students have the opportunity to “try it out with no obligation to commit”. Students are asked to commit by August and the band holds their band camp the second week of August on the DY campus. Once the school year starts the band rehearses Tuesday Thursday evenings 6-9 and Saturdays. The competitive season begins in late September and the band competes throughout New England each Saturday. In addition to competitions, the band plays for home football games and various local parades. The DY Marching Band also has a rich tradition of travel. In the past 20 years they have traveled to Ireland, Disney, Washington DC, and England.

All students are welcome to participate and no experience is necessary. Students may participate in both a fall sport and the marching band, with the permission of the coach and the director. While there is no user fee there are fund raising requirements.
