Math

The Math Department follows the recommended curriculum for college and career readiness as outlined by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. The program emphasizes attaining mathematical literacy, so our students can participate fully and knowledgeably in our ever-changing technological society.

Four years of math is a requirement for graduation from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. The first three courses of the curriculum are Integrated Algebra I, Integrated Geometry, and Integrated Algebra II and Trigonometry. The fourth year course offerings, such as, PreCalculus, Finance, AP Stats, or AP Calculus, provide a choice of courses for selection based on students’ interests and goals after high school.  Throughout all courses, reading, higher order thinking/reasoning skills, collaboration and communication are emphasized.
