Home School Requirement Letter to Parents
Dear Parent or Guardian,
The following is a list of requirements needed by the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District in order to approve a home education application if your intent is to homeschool your child. We will need from you a letter stating this information and a signed Home School Certification Form before school starts:
- Age and birth date of child/children being home schooled
- Grade(s) and schools(s)child/children would be attending in this district
- Your address
- Phone Number
- Person/s who will be instructing the child/children
- Curriculum being used
- Evaluation of progress toward attaining age appropriate learning objective
- Number of instructional hours/days
There have been numerous changes to the learning expectations for students in Massachusetts. The most recent changes are to the ELA/Literacy and Mathematics Frameworks in 2017 and the Science and Technology/Engineering Frameworks in 2016.
