DYI Dolphin Report
January 28th, 2024
A Message from the Principals,
Welcome to the second edition of the DYI Dolphin Report. Our students recently completed the Wiz Fit challenge. Many of our families were able to register and support the challenge and it is much appreciated. We are looking forward to our Wizards game on February 3 where many of our staff members will be playing. Inside classrooms we were busy this past week meeting with all students and talking about our Dolphin Dollars reward program. Students were able to identify where as a group we could do a few things a little better and we were able to tell students where they have been doing well. Our students who are learning English have been working really hard at their ACCESS testing. We appreciate their efforts. Lastly, in the next few weeks, students will be taking MAP tests. This is not something that you should worry about, It is a way for us to check out our students progress and where they need more help. MAP is not something a child should be anxious about.
Sincerely,
Mr. Blake, Dr. Greeson, and Mrs. Cleary

January/February SEL Focus Area
Throughout the year we have been focusing in on the Dolphin Way (Be Respectful, Be Kind, Be Responsible, and Be Safe). We have also been highlighting the CASEL Social Emotional Competencies. For the first 5 months, we explored Self-Awareness, Self-Management, and Responsible Decision Making, along with the Dolphin Way (Respectful, Responsible, Kind, and Safe). For the next month, our focus is on Relationship Skills. Relationship skills: The abilities to establish and maintain healthy and supportive relationships and to effectively navigate settings with diverse individuals and groups. This includes the capacities to communicate clearly, listen actively, cooperate, work collaboratively to problem solve and negotiate conflict constructively, navigate settings with differing social and cultural demands and opportunities, provide leadership, and seek or offer help when needed.
