A Message to Our Families
Dear MES Families,
We hope to see you this evening, December 8th, at our MES Reading Night! This is an opportunity to read with your family in the MES gymnasium from 5:30- 7:00 PM. Come for a book swap, baked goodies, and you can wear your pajamas! We want to thank our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) president, Mrs. Peace, PTO members, and staff who have made this event possible!
Our winter concert will be on Monday, December 18th! There are more details below! This concert is for our kindergarten through grade 3 students. Ms. Healy has prepared a selection of songs for the students to perform at the Kenneth T. Jenks Performing Arts Center at the Intermediate School. Even though our early education students will not be part of this performance, we will continue our tradition of having a preschool "Dem-In-Stration" at the end of the year in June when afternoon preschool families will be invited to come into MES and participate in an interactive music class.
We wish everyone a wonderful weekend and look forward to these events and more during the weeks ahead!
Warm regards,
Ms. Mahedy and Mrs. Carlson

Supporting Our Families During the Holidays
We hope our families had a wonderful Thanksgiving to all who celebrate. The holidays are around the corner and we want to continue to provide support to families during this season.
This year we are able to donate a holiday meal or grocery store gift card to 15 families. The list to sign up is first come first serve by DECEMBER 13. Please contact the school social worker as soon as possible if you would like to be on the list.
We are providing a resource to help you with gifts this holiday season. Toys for Tots on Cape Cod is a great opportunity to request toys for your children for free. A link is provided below for you to fill out. Further information and directions are in the link.
If you have any questions or are in need of further assistance please reach out to the school social worker.

In the World of Physical Education
All students are currently working on the Native American/Indigenous People & Pilgrim Games Unit. We discuss the Colonial Days and the lack of electricity, cable, internet, cars and running water back then. The kids had a difficult time imagining living at that time. We discuss how even back then there were babies and children and how kids enjoy playing games and toys. The unit focuses on the types of games and toys the kids of that time played with. Some of the Native American/Indigenous Peoples games and toys include: AMTAR (for grade 2 & 3 only), The Stick Game, Snow Snake, Bowl Game, Awl Game, Ball & Cup Toy, and Pokeans. Pilgrim Games include: Rolling Hoop, Flying Propeller, Buzz Saw, I Call Call, Marbles, Jacks, Ball & Cup Toy, Jacob's Ladder, Stool Ball and Ring Toss. I hope they enjoyed going back in time! Ms. Buron
