The Latest News from EHBi
Few things are scarier in an elementary school than Halloween Week! Students are so excited. Last Friday, we celebrated the season with a visit to the EHBi Pumpkin Patch. Our parent group (PTAC) purchased over 400 pumpkins and decorated our front lawn and Reading Garden with pumpkins. Every student got the chance to choose the pumpkin that was just right for them. Thank you to Hart Farms who, once again, made a very generous donation which helped us purchase pumpkins.
We are taking a subdued approach to Halloween otherwise. At the end of the day, we will be hosting our first whole school meeting, where we will recognize all the good work by our students in demonstrating the dolphin way! (No costumes or parade this year.)
We are busy preparing for our Family Dinner on November 9th! We are encouraging families to bring a dessert that represents their culture, heritage and family tradition to share with other families. Families will sit "family style" to encourage guests to get to know one another as they enjoy their meal. We are also hosting a Scholastic Book Fair that same evening. Families will have a chance to visit the Book Fair and purchase books. Proceeds from the Book Fair will be used by PTAC to fund field trips, school-wide assemblies, and visiting authors.
School Council
Each school in Massachusetts has a School Council that is made up of parents, teachers, and community members. This council advises the principal on the development of a school improvement plan as well as the annual budget. The Council meets one evening per month. We are currently looking for parents to serve on our School Council. Our first School Council meeting will be on Wednesday, November 8th, at 6:30 PM, via Zoom.
