This winter, the DY boy’s varsity basketball team earned a spot in the MIAA division 2 state tournament. Led by seniors Justin Clark, Sam Zinck, and Troy Donahue, the team really earned their way this season, competing against difficult teams like Cathedral, Holyoke, and Marshfield. The team consisted of starters: senior point guard Justin Clark, senior shooting guard Sam Zinck, senior small forward Dan Winsor, senior power forward Tom Barbo, and senior center Troy Donahue. The rest of the supporting cast consisted of: seniors Chris Balboni and Denis Dempsey, juniors Ryan Donahue, Cody Sullivan, Brendan Sullivan, and Aidan Delany, and sophomores Jamarie Hall, Luis Campos and Bryan Wolaszek. They finished with a 9-9 overall record and a birth in the state tournament.
In the state tournament, DY played Wellesley in the first round. They played hard but it just didn’t go their way that night. Congratulations on a successful season and making it to the state tournament.
